| Project Coordinator - Permitting |
Location: Seal Beach, CA
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Process design drawings through local government authorities for review and approval, such as zoning, planning, CEQA, and building and safety
- Update estimates, schedules, reports, and documents based on revisions and changes to the project
- Assist with preparation of final project reports including obtaining historical data and information.
- Conduct a quality check of all documents and reports, verifying accuracy of data, information, and calculations.
- Assist in preparing and maintaining the departmental policies, procedures, and manuals
Requirements include:
- BS or BA Degree
- Minimum 3 years of related experience (construction background is preferred)

Location: Seal Beach, CA
Job duties and responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Manage the day-to-day operations of accounts payable, accounts receivable, credit and collections, general ledger, payroll, and cash management
- Participate in monthly accounting close activities including review of account analysis, accruals, and more complex accounting transactions. Analyze monthly financial and certain operations performance and provide insightful review.
- Assist in the preparation and review of the consolidated financial statements and monthly reporting package. Ensure proper consolidation of entities and application of GAAP. Ensure that financial information is produced accurately and timely.
- Review contracts and ensure that terms of the contract are correctly accounted for in the Company’s accounts and disclosed in the Company’s financial statements.
- Support and contribute in the preparation of the Company’s SEC filings, including Forms 10-Q and 10-K.
- Manage the Company’s accounting information systems, including general ledger, billing, fixed assets, financial reporting, consolidation, etc.
- Other duties include coordination and execution of external reviews and audits, coordination of income tax returns and filing of excise and other tax returns.
- Assist in the research of authoritative accounting literatures and make recommendation for treatment of business transactions.
- Understanding of stock-based compensation (FAS 123R), income taxes (FAS 109), derivatives (FAS 133), foreign currency translation (FAS 52), revenue recognition (SAB 104 and EITF 0021), EPS and cash flow statements.
- Assess, document and maintain accounting policies and procedures to ensure internal controls over financial reporting are adequate, properly documented and regularly reviewed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree (Accounting), CPA
- 10 – 12 years of progressive experience in accounting with supervisory duties
- Controller experience (5 years desirable)
- Public accounting experience
- Excellent knowledge of US GAAP, SEC filings and accounting theory
- Understanding of internal control design and implementation
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills and attention to detail (“enjoys hands-on roll-up your sleeves experience”)
- Ability to assume a high degree of responsibility and work with minimal supervision
- Ability to review and assess the accounting and disclosure implications of contracts
- Strong communication and people relationship and management skills
- Reacts quickly and works well in a fast-paced, growing company environment

Reporting Relationship - Position reports to VP, Finance & Accounting and supervises accounting department. Position works closely with the Manager, Finance, for financial reporting requirements and analysis. Position regularly interacts with the Company’s sales and operations personnel.

| Senior Accountant |
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Responsible for accurate and timely filing of all excise tax, sales tax, VTAC, and other tax returns.
- Responsible for month end close procedures including preparing and reviewing journal entries and account reconciliations ensuring the accuracy of the financial statements. All such responsibilities shall be performed independently.
- Overseeing journal entries and account reconciliations as assigned by the Controller.
- Prepare complex journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Research to assure compliance with all tax and regulatory agencies.
- Prepare tax returns including federal excise tax, sales and use tax, VETC, and corporate filings ensuring compliance in all these areas.
- Negotiate, as appropriate, with tax and regulatory agencies.
- Research statutory filing requirements for new states.
- Support all sales tax and federal excise tax audits.
- Develop new procedures to streamline current processes.
- Develop accounting policies to ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Maintain fixed asset ledger.
- Actively participate in year-end and quarterly financial audits including communications and direction of team of auditors.
- Directly involved with SOX compliance and testing.
- Additional duties as assigned.
Education and/or Experience
Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance
5+ years of professional experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
Language Skills
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word. Great Plains experience a plus.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Create, modify, and maintain operational reports, analytical reports, and dashboards using the Microsoft Business Intelligence suite (SQL Server Reporting Services, Analysis Services, and Integration Services).
- Maintain, modify, and reverse engineer desktop applications programmed in MS Access (VBA or VB 6) and SQL Server 2005.
- Write, maintain, optimize, and reverse engineer Microsoft Transact-SQL stored procedures.
- Participate in .NET application development, as part of a team or individually, to migrate desktop applications to either Web or Windows platform.
- Use best practices in all phases of the Software Development Lifecycle; also using version control, and documentation along the way.
Requirements include:
- Must have proven experience implementing reports using SQL Server Reporting Services 2005 or 2008 (SSRS).
- Must have proven experience in .NET development for both Windows and Web applications.
- Must have 2-3 years minimum experience developing in C#.
- Must have proven experience writing complex stored procedures in SQL Server 2000 and 2005. SQL Server 2008 experience would be a bonus.
- Experienced in developing MS Access applications and Visual Basic 6.
- Ability to estimate development tasks, to report on progress and to deliver solutions within defined timeframes.
- Understanding of database ERDs including conceptual and physical design.
- Ability to accurately and thoroughly document complex technical designs
- Strong analytical skills
- Accounting or Finance background highly desirable.
- Excellent communication skills, written and oral
Some or all of the following would be desirable:
- Experience in SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS) and SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), particular 2005 or 2008, is highly desirable.
