Integration & Automation. With onboard PLC options, TrailerdecantCNG automatically runs upon user authorization and integrates for site-wide shutdown if emergency situations are detected.

Control & Safety. Safe system design protects users and equipment from hazards of decanting large volumes of high-pressure gas. Features include protection from sub-freezing gas temperatures, automatic low and high gas temperature shutdowns, drive-away safety, trailer identification, and remote & delayed valve opening for operator safety.

Performance. Decant CNG performance is achieved by managing decanting efficiency, flow rates and ensuring pressure drop is maintained throughout decant cycle: this is achieved with detailed attention to system sizing, back pressures, temperature and pressure drop.

  • Standard low temperature rated equipment for continued operation as the gas temperature drops due to decanting at a high flow rate
  • Breakaways included on all hoses which safely disconnect the hose in case of trailer drive away. Internal checks immediately stop the flow of any gas upon hose disconnection.
  • Each decant post is expandable from 1 to 3 hoses, depending on the flow rates and filling requirements.
  • Optional HMI and PLC included on the decant post for local control of the device by the fueling operator. This eliminates wasted time and additional operating costs of going to the control room to enter data and start and stop the fill.
  • Optional PLC with additional internal sensors allows diagnostics, data logging and reporting of all fueling data to the main control room. This data can be used for virtual pipeline statistics and operational metrics.
  • Multiple decant posts can be used on the same virtual pipeline daughter station with control systems in place for smart scheduling and queuing of decanting connected to trailers. An entire fleet can be connected and with the default schedule, or a customized one, the centers can operate fully automatically.
  • Optional spring-loaded manual ball valve allows for venting of the hoses after a complete fueling process. The spring-loaded valve ensures that the vent valve is never left in the open position which is a safety concern when the next fueling process is started. Additional flow control device added to the vent line to limit the vent flow to reduce noise and vibration during high pressure venting.
  • Enclosure and stand designed for industrial outdoor environments. Designed to withstand low temperatures and high wind environments. Structurally “stiff” stand eliminates the concern of vibrations or deflections that may affect the connection between the TrailerfillCNG and the site piping.
  • Start, Stop and ESD buttons included to allow simple operator control of the decant post without use of touch screens.
  • Optional indicator lights and alarms provide clear and concise status of the decant mother station.
  • Each hose includes a swivel connection to the decant post to ensure safety; regular twisting during pressurization and depressurization will not cause fittings to potentially loosen over time.
  • ESD circuit is designed to integrate with site ESD to facilitate site-wide shut down in emergency situations
  • Integrated control regulator eliminates the cost and maintenance requirements of a site air compressor.

Details

  • Working Fluids: sweet dry natural gas.
  • Outlet location is approximate.
  • All electrical conduit or cable must be sealed for Class 1, Ddiv 1 Group D based upon the existing classified location.

Options

  • Standard 3500 scfm, high flow 5000 scfm models.
  • Inlet Filtrations (always recommended but may be removed if site has other means of filtration to ensure clean gas stream).
  • HMI (always recommended but may not be required if site has other means for operators to enter information into the system). Units come standard with start, stop, and ESD buttons along with 3 status lights.
  • Fully featured low ambient temperature model option.
