How It Works

You’re interested in exploring the benefits of natural gas fueling solutions. But you’re not sure where to begin. Start by contacting a Clean Energy account manager. We will guide you through the assessment, design and installation process, providing quality service and expert recommendations every step of the way.

Naturally, we recognize that not all fleets are same. Our Account Managers will work with you to craft a solution that fits your particular needs.

Project Scoping
You’ll meet with a Clean Energy Account Manager, who reviews available fueling options (CNG vs. LNG) and conducts an in-depth analysis of your company, fleet and needs. Together, we’ll make sure our natural gas fueling model is right for you. Once we’ve determined the right path for you, Clean Energy’s full-time Grant Specialists will also begin preparing grant applications for vehicles and fueling infrastructure on your behalf.

Grant Preparation
In the past few years alone, Clean Energy has secured nearly $100 million in grant funds for fleet clients. As increasing numbers of grants and incentives become available for NGV operators, the complexity of accessing those funds also increases. We offer an intimate understanding of the increasingly complex rules and regulations, which vary for each agency. Let us take the pain and paperwork out of grant preparation, and prepare an award-winning application on your behalf.

Station Design
Based on the findings of our analysis, Clean Energy’s full-time project management staff will custom-design your natural gas fueling station. Our expert team has designed more than 60 natural gas CNG (compressed natural gas), and LNG (liquefied natural gas) stations. Leveraging their experience, our engineers will work with you to determine the optimal equipment layout and location. We’ll create and adhere to construction timeline, anticipating and preparing any potential delays.

Plan Check/Permitting
After securing your sign-off on the design plans, Clean Energy will submit the plans to the appropriate local agency for approval. In addition, we will secure all the necessary permits, resolving any technical issues that arise during the plan-check process. Clean Energy’s staff has extensive experience working with local building officials and Fire Marshals, allowing us to quickly facilitate the process, while allowing you to focus on operating your fleet.

Construction/Project Management
Trust Clean Energy’s proven turn-key services to see your project through, every step of the way. Once the proper permits are issued, Clean Energy will begin construction of your fueling station. Who better to build your station than the same experts who designed it. Working closely with our design team, the Clean Energy construction team ensures that your station matches your specifications. An onsite Clean Energy team member remains available to resolve any post-construction issues during the de-bugging phase. Once the station is operational, Clean Energy conducts an orientation to familiarize drivers with the fueling system.

Station Operation/Maintenance
Where other providers consider the job done, Clean Energy considers our job just begun. Once your station is built and operational, Clean Energy’s in-house Maintenance Department conducts regular, on-site preventative and scheduled maintenance to ensure your station’s peak performance. In addition, should the station incur any problems, Clean Energy will respond 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to ensure your fleet meets roll-out. In fact, we have never missed a day of roll-out, and we don’t plan to.

Customer Service/Billing
Every fleet manager is assigned a Clean Energy Account Manager who serves as a single, day-to-day point of contact for any issues related to your station or fleet. Your Account Manager offers knowledgeable assistance in training, billing, grant information, incentives, and air quality regulations or laws that may affect your fleet. If your station includes public access on the perimeter of your property, your Clean Energy Account Manager will also handle the billing and collections, keeping you focused on your priorities.
