DC Spotlight: Chairman Mitchell Testifies before Congress

Clean Energy's Chairman, Warren I. Mitchell, testified before the US House of Representative's Energy and Air Quality Subcommittee expressing the need for Congress to expand the country's renewable fuel goals to include alternative fuels such as natural gas. "Achieving the production goals of 35 billion gallons annually by 2017 requires a portfolio that is inclusive of both renewable and alternative fuels ... and natural gas vehicles offer a proven solution, ready for wide-scale implementation today," said Chairman Mitchell. Upon the conclusion of his testimony, Members of Congress questioned US Department of Energy representatives attending the hearing whether they believe natural gas was a viable transportation fuel and they responded that it is a strong option.
