New Clean-Air Solution for Refuse Collection
Clean Energy has joined with Hallahan Truck Sales, Holtsville, NY natural gas refuse truck dealer, to offer a “one-stop-shop” clean-air solution for East Coast refuse haulers.
The offering, combining natural gas refuse trucks with Clean Energy financing options and fuel supply contracts, premiered at a major news conference staged Sept. 19 in the Town of Smithtown, New York. National, state and local leaders gathered to salute the Township’s landmark mandate to convert its entire refuse fleet from diesel to environmentally-friendly natural gas supplied by Clean Energy.
NY Gov. George Pataki, on hand for the occasion, said, “Compressed natural gas has emerged as a viable environmentally-safe alternative to gasoline and diesel.
I encourage Clean Energy to continue to develop the next generation of vehicle fuels that will be cleaner, cheaper and more efficient.”
On view for event attendees was a clean, quiet running natural gas-powered AUTOCAR Xpeditor® WXLL refuse truck from Hallahan Truck Sales. New York and New Jersey refuse haulers and municipalities will have a chance to try out the new truck as part of a 2006-2007 Clean Energy/Hallahan demonstration tour.
