The Cleanest Engine
Reliable & Durable
The Zero Now solution is powered by an engine that features next generation technology to improve reliability and durability. Manufactured by Cummins Westport, the Near Zero engine recirculates exhaust gases back to the engine cylinders, while the closed crankcase ventilation system eliminates emissions.
EPA & CARB Certified
The 2018 ISX12N is certified by both the EPA and the California Air Resources Board to meet the lowest nitrogen oxide (NOx) emission standards at only 0.02 g/bhp-hr.

90% Reduction in NOx Emissions
The ISX12N engine emits 90% fewer pollutants than even today’s newest diesel engines, making it the cleanest engine available for heavy-duty trucks. In fact, the new engine has tested as low as 0.01 g NOx/bhp-hr., achieving virtually zero tailpipe emissions.
Lower Maintenance Costs
The elimination of a Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) and Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) means a simpler engine with less maintenance required. Plus, the Cummins-Westport engine is backed by a nationwide network of technicians, parts, and service support.
Quieter & Odorless
The elimination of diesel particulate matter and complete replacement of petroleum fuel means your fleet will be far quieter to operate, and your drivers will be spared from smelling like diesel.
As Powerful As Diesel
With 400 hp / 1,450 lb-ft torque, the ISX12N is well suited for heavy-duty regional-haul truck/tractor, vocational, and refuse applications.
Still skeptical of its strength?

Not a heavy-duty truck?
Cummins Westport makes comparable engines for school buses, shuttles, and medium-duty truck markets, as well as transit and refuse trucks.
Extensive Fueling Network

Clean Energy operates over 110 natural gas fueling stations that can accommodate Class 8 trucks, with over 60 located at Pilot Flying J stations to provide easy access to driver amenities and roadside services. Our stations are placed strategically around the United States and Canada opening up all the major shipping corridors to natural gas fueling. And we’re not alone. There are over 1700 natural gas fueling stations across North America, which means finding a natural gas stop along your route is more convenient and accessible than ever.
Find a Clean Energy StationThe Problem with Electric
Not Yet in Mass Production
The biggest problem with electric is that it’s not yet a real solution for heavy-duty trucks. With any untested and unproven technology comes concerns about the ability to meet current operational and economic requirements.
Electric trucks will be costly to buy, and will likely raise operational costs for shippers and carriers via increased vehicle weight, decreased driving ranges, and lack of charging infrastructure.
Not Zero Impact
Heavy-duty trucks will require a considerable amount of energy to recharge. A significant increase in demand for electricity may be met through an increase in coal production.
Exponential demand for rare metals, cobalt and lithium, used in battery cells has also created a human rights and environmental crisis in unregulated and developing countries.
THE CLEANEST FUEL IN THE WORLD
The Zero Now solution is fueled by Redeem RNG - the first-of-its-kind renewable natural gas.
Renewable & Organic
Redeem is made from biomethane gas which is captured and extracted from landfills and dairy farms. Next, the gas is processed and purified, and then made available exclusively to Clean Energy customers at fueling stations across North America.
No Drilling, No Fossil Fuels
Because Redeem is made entirely from organic waste and does not involve drilling, it is technically not a fossil fuel. In fact, by capturing the harmful biomethane gas that would otherwise be released into the atmosphere, it actually leaves the planet in better shape than it was before.
Reduces GHG emissions by 70%
Redeem reduces GHG emissions by at least 70% versus diesel, and in some cases by 100%. But we’re not stopping there. Clean Energy is committed to a more sustainable future, which is why we’ve set out a company-wide goal for Redeem to be fully carbon-free by 2025. That means by making the switch to Redeem today, you can continue to improve on your own sustainability goals without changing a thing.
Price-Stable, Domestic Fuel
There is an abundance of renewable natural gas available in the U.S. and the supply is rapidly growing, which allows it to be a price-stable resource, fully independent from the volatility and influence of foreign markets.
Works With All Vehicle Types
Redeem fuels hundreds of vehicle fleets across the nation every day. Any natural gas vehicle from a taxi to an 18-wheeler can use Redeem in either CNG or LNG form. Redeem can meet 100% of the fueling requirements of any natural gas vehicle.
Making the Switch
Moving away from diesel is better for everyone. It’s better for the health of our drivers, for our air quality, and for the environment. Natural gas is an abundant, domestic, price-stable resource that provides independence from foreign oil markets. But making the switch has to also make sense for your company’s bottom line. That’s why at Clean Energy we set out to remove all of the fiscal roadblocks previously standing in the way. And to ensure the operational transition is as seamless and easy as possible, we offer a comprehensive program, TouchPoint Customer Care, to guide you through a successful vehicle launch and beyond.
Zero Added Expense
Through Clean Energy’s Zero Now program, you can lease or purchase a fleet of new, natural gas vehicles for the same price of a diesel fleet. Choose from a variety of manufacturers with either CNG or LNG tanks. The only catch is that they have to be equipped with the new Cummins Westport ISX12N Near Zero engine.

Medium Duty Truck Options Now Available
Beginning this summer you can take advantage of all the benefits of Natural Gas for Medium Duty Trucks! Cummins Westport is bringing its groundbreaking technology to Class 3-6 trucks to give you additional options for your fleet.
Discounted Fuel Program
Clean Energy will also guarantee a fuel price on our Redeem™ renewable natural gas that is significantly discounted to diesel for the financing term.
