Natural gas — the new Green Standard
for port trucks and regional trucking.

The adoption and deployment of natural gas vehicles have become widespread around the world. In the United States, the emphasis is on high fuel-use fleets of medium and heavy-duty vehicles, including Class 8 natural gas (CNG and LNG)-fueled trucks, where the most environmental and economic benefits can be gained.

Clean Energy's new LNG truck fueling station at Ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach; burgeoning container traffic for goods movement.

Natural gas-fueled trucks deliver, where it counts
Class 8 heavy-duty natural gas trucks are the state of the art of vehicle design, with top performance and low emissions. Kenworth and Sterling are putting LNG Class 8 trucks into full production. Peterbilt and Autocar plan production. Natural gas trucks are far cleaner than 2007 EPA Standards. One LNG engine already complies with 2010 EPA emissions standards. Diesel has risk and uncertainty meeting 2010 standards.

Clean Energy: The critical connection
Clean Energy provides the critical connection for the use of natural gas as fuel. Clean Energy builds, operates and maintains truck fleet fueling stations and provides natural gas fuel on a long-term contract basis. For trucking fleets, Clean Energy provides the comprehensive infrastructure and services required to switch to natural gas. With long-term fueling contracts, Clean Energy designs, builds, operates and maintains truck fleet fueling stations; helps secure vehicle financing; and assists in obtaining grants available for vehicle purchase. The benefit for fleet owners and operators is a painless, quick turnkey development of new natural gas-fueled truck fleets and fueling stations.

A case in point: ports using natural gas trucks for goods movement
Fast-growing import/export container traffic greatly benefits the U.S. economy. The downside stems from the diesel exhaust generated by port trucks — dangerous emissions that contribute to global warming and impact public health.

In Southern California, about 25% of diesel
pollution results from goods movement activity at the mammoth Ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach. Projections call for container traffic to more than double by 2020. The Ports already handle 40% of all U.S. container traffic. To address the problem, the Ports now require the replacement of up to 16,800 diesel trucks with one-half fueled by clean-burning natural gas. Clean Energy is building the fueling stations to serve these trucks.

Clean Energy is North America’s leading provider of CNG and LNG vehicle fuel.
